Uncle Mikes Holsters

Recently I have taken the time to purchase all Galco carry pieces for my Colt 1911 carry gun Holsters and also more leather Holster for the High Power….let me tell you, there is a WORLD of difference between Fobus/Uncle Mikes type stuff and Galco/Mitch Rosen/SafariLand type stuff.

You absolutely cannot afford to buy cheap leather/kydex for a carry piece any more than you can afford to put a Simmons scope and 12 dollar weaver mounts on a Steyr PSG….and expect decent results anyhow.

I’ve had 2 and love them. I had one for my Sigma and it didn’t hold it well but it did hold it. My Uncle Mikes Holsters Glock 22 locks into mine and will stay in through just about cowboy holster. Only problem with them is that they can be two hard to get off my Tactical holster. Not really that big of a deal.

I got news, don’t like cheap stuff, fine, don’t buy it. That Video is BS, because those two are obviously trying to break that holster. I suspect I could do somehting similar with most any brand of paddle concealment holster out there. Paddle holsters are about convenience, not ultimate security, if you want 100% security, buy an UM pro-3. Personally, I own a Fobus for almost every pistol holster I own, and just placed an order for 3 more. I have been Using Fobus since they came out, weekley, for IPSC and 3gun competitions, and have abused the heck out of them with ZERO problems. About a year ago, at a 3gun match, I fell during a stage. I was wearing a Fobus C21 1911 paddle Uncle Mikes Holster. I fell hard, directly on the Handgun Holster, with the rear sight of my pistol digging into a barricade. The concealment holster was strong enough that it ripped my jeans and flipped me over as I fell without breaking.

FObus haters are Just like Wolf Haters, they cannot be reasoned with or dissuaded. They feel if you didn’t spend as much money as possible or at least much as they did, then you are inferior as a human being. It’s your money, spend it however you like.

Pocket Holster

I carry my G23 (same size as the 19) in a Galco gun holsters SkyOps. I want to try a C-TAC or M-TAC but this one works fine for me. I like the fact that just the edges of the Y-hook show. If you dont know what to look for, cowboy holsters will never be

After spending $140 and waiting six months, I received a High-Noon "Closing Argument" for my G26 (I know, not the same as you’re talking about, but High-noon follows a similar pattern for their IWB Shoulder holsters). Thank god for their no-questions-asked return policy. It felt like I was carrying a brick in my Pocket Holster. I shipped that POS back ASAP, and bought an Pistol Magazine. It was $80 and it came in a week. It is so comfortable I forget it’s there, and it conceals nicely.

One thing I’ll give High-Noon: they use metal belt clips. If the MTAC had metal belt clips, it would be perfect. For $25, the Bare Asset may get the job done cheaply, but the High-noon Shoulder holster is subpar, IMO.

spotted.

holsters

I realize this is not the accessories or holster forum but it is the Glock Magazines forum

I need a comfortable IWB Blackhawk Holster for my G19.

What do you guys recommend?

User Info IM User Email User Reply Quote Report

After a lot of money spent and a pile of holsters in my closet, I’m thrilled to say that I finally found a minimalist IWB Blackhawk Holster which does the job exceptionally well, feels like I’m not even wearing a Handgun Holsters, costs only $25 and is a stocking item ready to ship. What is it? High Noon Bare Asset. I’m getting them for all my carry guns now.

I ‘m portly and need that to be kept in mind.

Handgun Holsters

I quickly discovered that although the Fobus was great for that purpose, it was useless for concealed carry. So, I used it during the commute and switched to a Blade-Tech paddle holster before and after the commute. Worked great for it’s intended purpose and I liked it. Now that I don’t have that long commute, I just use the Handgun Holsters and position it a little further back around the hip in the car and slip it back forward for walking around.

Pardon me while I yawn; then see my remarks above regarding gun Holsters grabbers. Anyone who carries exposed, and isn’t wearing a proper uniform duty-type concealment holster, is ASKING to have their piece snatched.

Concealed carry is much more than techniques and gear; it is very much a state of mind as well.

Not dissing you personally, Aimless; but I have heard this pap about how easy a Fobus is to break repeated so often it is getting tiresome. I’m not disputing the fact; but those "instructors" who belabor the point are MISSING the point: which is, the Fobus is intended for concealed carry. IOW, nobody ahould know you even have a gun until you’re ready to show it to them…

his sucks; I have the EXACT Fobus Holster they denoted as being unsafe. I bought it about 2 months ago because I wanted a holster for my G19 with my TLR-1 mounted. I don’t use it for a daily carry holster, I only break it out once in a blue moon if my wife and I go for a late night walk. If I am not using the TLR, I prefer my Galco Holsters Matrix Belt Slide in the composite Uncle Mikes Holster arena - it just seems a bit nice than the Fobus to me.

I’ll probably keep mine as it is seldom used. I will, however, not be taking it’s possible safety issues for ankle holster.

Rifle scopes

View through a 4x rifle scopeA telescopic sight, commonly called a scope, is a device used to give an accurate point of aim for weapons such as firearms, airguns and Rifle scopes . Other sighting systems are iron sights, red dot sights, and laser sights

[edit] Types

mwgsam46

A Rifle scopes model 687M variable power rifle scopeTelescopic sights are classified in terms of the optical magnification and the objective lens diameter, e.g. 1050. This would denote 10 times magnification with a 50 mm objective lens. In general terms, larger objective lens diameters are better (collect more light and give a wider field of view), the magnification power should be chosen on the basis of the intended use. There are also Adjustable Objectives sights where the magnification can be changed by manually turning one part, the syntax is the following: minimal magnification maximum magnification objective lens, for example, 3940.

SIG SAUER 556

The SG 550 series rifle has captured the shooting communitys imagination like no other firearm and the SIG 556 is among the most popular models. Historically, the sale of this famous rifle made in Switzerland was restricted to law enforcement and the military. In those contexts, it certainly earned itself a sound reputation for outstanding performance, durability and accuracy. The SIG 556 sight, manufactured in the United States, is a legal civilian version.

AR15 Rifle

In modern times, one could argue the dependency for survival on a rifle is not what it may have once been. We have burglar alarms, cellular phones, laws and police forces, a powerful army, and technology has made us safer than ever. At the same time, technology has made us more vulnerable than ever before. A small group has the potential to wipe out millions of people with a single Pistol Grip weapon. The fall of the Soviet Union has loosened the control over its existing nuclear weapons, and third-world countries can have nuclear arsenals. The threats from crime, terrorism, natural disaster, and weapons of mass destruction are real. If something were to happen today, you would need to have made a decision about the rifle you would select and be prepared for such an event.

So the need to select a “survival” rifle is real. Selecting a single “ideal rifle” is not easy. The AR15 series of rifles comes out ahead when compared to everything else. In the text that follows, this article will attempt to justify that decision, as well as to take it a step further and specify a single configuration of the AR-15 that is “ideal”.

10/22 rifle

10/22 rifle LR ammunition is available in a very wide variety, and a very wide price range. Bullet weights range from 30 to 60 grains (1.9 to 3.9 g), velocities from 350 to 1750 feet per second (110 to 530 m/s). “Promotional” loads for plinking can be found for under US$10.00 per brick, while precision target rounds can cost US$80.00 per brick. Currently, a standard box of 50 rounds goes for 10/22 rifle US. For comparison, a box of 9×19mm, another popular and relatively inexpensive round for semi-automatic handguns, costs closer to $8-10 USD per box of 50. It’s common to shoot well over a hundred rounds on a single shooting range visit, and savings add up quickly. For rifle shooting, the price difference is even more dramatic.

John R. Lott Jr.: D.C. Handgun Ban
Is banning handguns a “reasonable regulation”? The District of Columbia certainly hopes that the Supreme Court thinks so. D.C. filed a brief last week asking the U.S. Supreme Court to let it keep its 1976 handgun ban, but how the city argued its case was what was most surprising. Instead of spending a lot of time arguing over what the constitution means, the city largely made a public policy argument. D.C. argues that whatever one thinks about the Second Amendment guaranteeing people a right to own guns, banning handguns should be allowed for public safety reasons.

BAS Scopes

FINGER-ADJUSTABLE SCOPES:
After zeroing, you may use the hex wrench supplied with your scope to remove the windage and elevation drums and then reposition
them so that the zero (0) lines up with the indicator line on the spindle. Any further windage or elevation
adjustments can be made more precisely by calculating the amount of clicks from the zero point the windage and elevation
drums have been moved.
BAS Scopes rheostat, located at the top of the eyebell, controls the degrees of illumination. To prevent accidental discharge in shipping,
a plastic insulator has been placed within the battery compartment. To remove the plastic insulator, unscrew the battery cover
and remove the plastic from both sides of the battery. Replace the battery, being careful to insert the battery positive (+) side
up. Replace the battery cover firmly to assure that it is water tight. The illumination feature is activated by depressing and
releasing the small button located beside the battery compartment. The button should be depressed until a click is felt. The
first click will be the illuminators least bright setting.
