The telescoping stocks are available in either an aluminum or plastic construction, both of which are strong enough for the purpose, but the aluminum have a tendency to shatter if hit. They are also offered in 2, 3, or 4 position varieties representing how many positions it locks open in. The 3 or 4 position stocks are desirable to offer the flexible stock lengths necessary when either smaller individuals are using the rifle, or when thick clothing or body armor are used. Pistol Grip The best of these is the Colt M4 Pistol Grip, which is a plastic,4 position stock. Bushmaster’s stock is also pretty good, and I would not recommend on that wasn’t Colt/Bushmaster.

Elections Prove Successful for New Jersey’s Law-Abiding Gun Owners and Sportsmen!

Twenty-five NRA supported candidates won their elections for the State Legislature. Also, in the 12th District, anti-gun and animal “rights” advocates Senator Ellen Karcher and Assemblyman Mike Panter were defeated. Both had sought to pass legislation to restructure the New Jersey Fish & Game Council to take away representation of New Jersey sportsmen and give more influence to animal “rights” activists who want to ban hunting in the Garden State. Illinois State Police Extend Comment Period for Proposed FOID Card Age Restriction!
As previously reported, the Illinois State Police has proposed enacting an age limit for an Illinois Firearm Owner Identification (FOID) card. This appears to be in response to an editorial by Daily Southtown columnist Howard Ludwig, who created controversy where none existed when he wrote an article about obtaining a FOID card for his ten-month-old son. Illinois law does not set an age requirement for issuance of a FOID card with a parent’s consent, but imposing one could have disastrous effects on Illinois’ rich hunting heritage and would endanger the lives of children. The Joint Committee on Administrative Rules (JCAR) will determine if this rule will be enacted, but you can still submit comments in opposition to the proposal. 2. Support the barrel so that when we knock the pins out, we wont stress the barrel at all… I used a couple pieces of 2×4. Using a large AR-15 Uppers (~1/4″) brass punch, firmly knock the pins loose. Use masking tape all round the FSB is you are worried you might slip and scratch something. I must admit… on most of the barrels I have done, a couple sharp hits with a punch knocked the pins loose…. but I finally had one Bushmaster 20″ barrel that the pins absolutely would not come loose on. I ended up having to dremel the FSB down and then was able to punch them out, but I ruined the FSB. I was replacing with a flip up FSB anyway, so it wasnt a great concern… but keep this in mind, should you come across one that is not very friendly.

Instructions

• STEP 1: Fill or rent your SCUBA tanks from a reputable dive shop.
• STEP 2: Ask where the shop compressor’s air intake pipe is. If you find it sticking out of the shop’s back wall, into an alley where cars idle their engines, go somewhere else.
• STEP 3: Remember that air expands when heated ‘ never leave a filled tank in a hot car.
• STEP 4: Store tanks in the back of a car during transport, always with the tank valve facing passengers. If the valve is damaged in transit, the tank will propel the other way.
• STEP 5: Remove the rubber valve protection cap and inspect the O-ring.
• STEP 6: Replace the ring if it is missing or damaged.
• STEP 7: Attach the buoyancy compensator to the tank body.
• STEP 8: Secure the regulator’s first stage in place on the tank valve.

Surefire

Seriously…. a few allen wrenches. Thats it. The Troy tube clamps over your existing barrel nut, so no special tools required. You will need a dremel or the like to remove the Delta ring.

That�s it for tools! Now here are the step-by-step instructions:

1. Remove the upper from the rifle. Remove the handguards. Here is the upper we will be installing the Surefire on: It is a Bushmaster tactical carbine, with a GG&G FSB. We didnt want to have to mess with the muzzle device OR the GG&G, so the Troy was an obvious winner. You need to cut off the factory delta ring. A dremel is the tool for the job. The Delta ring is aluminum so it goes fast. Just be very careful not to slip and mess up your barrel or receiver. Cut it in two places, then snap it off and remove the snap ring and spring.
